The night before a wedding day, I feel like I'm an athlete preparing for game day (not that I know what that's like - it's just what I imagine athletes might do).
I have a pre-wedding checklist, make sure everything is packed, SD cards are formatted, and batteries are charged. Then, I take it easy. A good dinner, a little bit of Netflix, and an early bedtime.
Wedding day morning - this sounds a little ridiculous, but it's been the most helpful thing I've learned recently - I stretch thoroughly, lol.
You might not think about it, but wedding days - especially wedding film days - are physically demanding. When filming, I'm usually holding a 10 - 15 lb weight in front of my face for about eight hours, most of the time while I'm in a partial squat, to make the video footage more stable.
By the end of the day I typically feel like I've been hit by a bus, lol. But I grab tacos on the way home, sleep in, edit a quick a sneak peek the following morning, and then spend the rest of the day relaxing and recovering.
But I love doing it! I say all of that to say - I take your wedding day very seriously. I want to make sure I'm in the best shape to give it 100% all day long, from detail shots and prep to the final dance and grand exit!
